These terms apply to your use of AnglersHub (anglershub.co.za), a South African online angling platform operated from Johannesburg (“AnglersHub”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By using the site or creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use AnglersHub.
1. What AnglersHub is
AnglersHub is a free-to-browse directory and information resource covering fishing spots, tackle shops, competitions, brands, guides and fish species in South Africa. With a free account you can use personal tools such as a catch log, a fishing session logger, a tackle box, saved spots and a basic weather forecast. AnglersHub Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds extra features, described in section 4.
We sell digital services only. We do not sell or ship physical goods. Where products, brands or shops appear on the site, any purchase happens on the seller’s own website and is between you and that seller.
2. Your account
- You must be 13 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it first so you are not billed again.
3. Using AnglersHub fairly
When you use AnglersHub, including posts, reviews, photos and edits, you agree not to:
- post anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- share private fishing spots or personal details of other people without their permission;
- scrape, copy in bulk or resell content from the site;
- try to break, overload or get around the security or usage limits of the site or its AI tools.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us a non-exclusive licence to show it on AnglersHub. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
4. AnglersHub Pro subscription
- Price. AnglersHub Pro costs R50 per month, or R500 per year if you choose yearly billing where it is offered, charged in South African rand. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
- What you get. Pro includes the live weather map with full hourly detail, forecast model comparison and an offline forecast; Billy, our AI fishing assistant, with a fair-use monthly allowance; Fish ID from a photo; a session assistant and debrief; personal bite windows; and a monthly fishing report by email. The current list is shown in the upgrade window before you pay.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Paystack by card. We never see or store your full card details.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Monthly Pro renews every month on the same date and your card is charged R50 each time. Yearly Pro renews once a year on the same date and your card is charged R500 each time.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your profile settings, or by emailing us. After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Paystack may retry it. If it keeps failing, your account returns to the free plan. Your catch log, sessions and other data are kept.
- Refunds. See our Refund Policy.
- Price changes. If we change the Pro price we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you wish.
5. Billy and the AI tools
Billy and the other AI tools answer fishing questions using curated angling reference material, your own logged catches and sessions, and weather data. AI answers can be wrong. They are general recreational information only and are not professional, safety, financial, medical or legal advice. Always check local regulations, permits, bag limits and conditions yourself, and use your own judgement on the water.
Pro includes a fair-use monthly AI allowance, on both monthly and yearly billing. When it runs out, the AI tools pause until the next month at no extra charge. The tools are for fishing questions only, and repeated misuse can pause or remove AI access.
6. Information on the site
We work hard to keep listings, dam levels, weather and other information accurate, but it can change or be out of date. Check directly with venues, shops and organisers before you travel or enter a competition. Fishing and outdoor activities carry risk, and you are responsible for your own safety.
7. Liability
To the extent allowed by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act, AnglersHub is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site or by email.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions, complaints or billing queries: info@anglershub.co.za or our contact page.
