How to log a catch

Log a catch live in a session, or add one you already landed, old PBs included.

What it is

Logging a catch saves a fish to your catch log: the species, weight or size, where you caught it, the gear it came on and a photo. There are two ways to do it, depending on whether you are fishing right now.

Why it helps

  • Your PBs are tracked for you, per species.
  • Every fish adds to your stats and achievements.
  • Fish logged in a session also save the weather, so you can see which conditions work.

Step by step

  1. Fishing right now? Use your session

In a live session, tap + Log catch. This keeps the fish on your session with the rod, bait and weather at that moment. Not in a session yet? Start one first, it takes about a minute.

  2. Pick the species and the rod

Tap the species, then pick which rod it was caught on. If you changed baits, tap Edit rod to fix the setup before you save.

  3. Add weight, size and a photo

Enter the weight in kg, the size in cm, or both. Mark Released if the fish went back. Add a photo if you have one, then tap Save catch.

  4. Already landed it? Use Log a catch

From your profile or catch log, tap Log a catch. Work through four short steps: species, location, tackle and details.

  5. Fill in the details

Pick the day you caught it. Old catches from memory count too. Add your time on the water if you want the trip to count toward fish per hour. You can add several fish in one go.

  6. Adding a PB

On your profile, the PB board has Add a past PB. Pick the species, add the weight and the day you landed it. Old PBs from memory count too.

Tips

  • No signal at the dam? Log the catch anyway. It saves on your phone and uploads by itself when you are back in signal.
  • Weigh first, photo second. The fish goes back quicker and you will not forget the weight.
  • Log each fish as it comes in. It takes a few seconds and the weather saved with it is spot on.

Common questions

Can I log a catch from last year?

Yes. Use Log a catch from your profile and pick the date you landed it. It goes into the right season in your catch log.

I made a mistake on a catch. Can I delete it?

Yes. Open the catch in your catch log and tap Delete catch, then log it again with the right details.

Who can see my catches?

Your catch log is yours. Private spots stay on your session only and are never added to the public map.

Got a fish to add? Log it now while you remember the details.
